I want policies that actually respect my bodily autonomy, my right to privacy when it comes to healthcare, and my right to fair pay and equal treatment in the workplace. That’s what I want. Republican lady governors and senators notwithstanding, the GOP is not going to give women policies that do any of these things.

The GOP does not get it. They just don’t! They honestly think that a “parade of women” is something more meaningful than the tokenizing pageant it is. Anti-choice women in office who want to slash social programs are no better for anyone. We need progressive women in government. But the GOP doesn’t understand - they don’t intend to change their platform or their opinions to fit the needs of their people. They want to have the same old rich white boys’ club with a few token ladies and people of color to trot out when they come under fire for being sexists, racists, and classists.
