There was no Walrus meeting today which is kind of a bummer since I enjoy our high walrus-related ambitions some of which include:
-Adopting an actual walrus.
-Going to the zoo to visit a walrus (Nearest one is in Sea World. We checked.)
-Buying a walrus mascot-suit to wear on special occasions.
-The Walrus t-shirts, stickers, buttons, etc.
… like I said, “high walrus-related ambitions.” Anyways, we recently sent out emails to those of you who submitted to The Walrus - Don’t be discouraged if your work wasn’t selected! Submissions will open up again for the 2013 issue in September! - and we are now in the works of organizing everything for publishing. Jess (The Walrus’s new artistic back-bone) is in the works of the cover-art as we speak.
I’m super excited for the 2012 issue of The Walrus and you should be too!!
Until next time little oysters!
P.S.
The Walrus staff took their *first group photo for The Crest (Mills College yearbook). I’ll be sure to post the picture as soon as I get it. No one remembered that last Monday was photo-day so you’ll get to see The Walrus staff in their natural state - exhausted and stressed out.
(*Apparently, The Walrus hasn’t been featured in The Crest ever!?)
I’m amused that I basically suggested all of those things. Lol.
(We’ve been in there once in 1997. Lollllll. The 90s.)
And this is why The Walrus rocks. I’m seriously excited for all our hard work to be tangible! Be on the look out for announcements!
